Ok I am looking for a new hard drive. I always go for Cheapest Per gig (Generally speaking, as I also want a good drive) 6 Months ago I ordered 4x 640 gig drives as they were cheapest per gig then however times have changed. I live in the "Stats" I prefer to order online and their is no good local "computer" shops well at a decent price at least so online order is a must.

I am looking for preferably internal, externals are ok but the price is usually more and just cause clutter. I have no interest in paying more then $150. SATA2 With a good Warranty. I think that is all. I might add more info later.

Here are a few I have been looking at but I am looking for opinions and other possibilities.
Western Digital Caviar 640GB: $69.99 - $0.109 Per Gig - I have 4 of these they were a bit more when I purchased them but not to much of a price drop
SAMSUNG Spinpoint F1 750GB: $79.99 - $0.107 Per Gig
Western Digital Caviar 1TB: $99.99 - $0.098 Per Gig
SAMSUNG HD103UI 1TB: $94.99 - $0.093 Per Gig
Seagate Barracuda 1.5TB: $139.99 $0.091 Per Gig

Note: Per gig prices have been rounded.

I've been buying Seagates lately and they're been fantastic. I've got 2 externals and an internal, all going smooth as silk. Go for them.

I have a western digital external 500gb, a seagate external 250gb and a seagate internal 160gb. All working fine sice I got them. No problems at all for these two brands!

WD or Seagate (both great brands, NEVER had problems with those and when I did the RMA was flawless and I didn;t have receipts anymore). If you want speed 4 cheap though why not go RAID? Make some nice 0,1 / 1,0 combo or maybe RAID5 to keep more space.

I just had a Seagate 500GB DOA on me and went for a WD instead. Glad I did!
