New fire Emblem announced for ds

For those who were left thirsty for more Fire Emblem tactical game action after 2008's release, take heart. There's going to be more.

Nintendo has just revealed upcoming title Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem ~ The Light And Shadow Of A Hero. The game does not have a release date and no word on a Western release — it does have a trailer! So, look forward to an updated Fire Emblem title.

Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem was released in Japan on the Super Nintendo in 1994.

Not a fan of the series, actualy i never liked fire emblem lol, there is not a relase date atm.

I had several problems with the first DS Fire Emblem.

1) What the hell happened to the battle graphics? They look awful.
2) The ability to change everyone's class and their lack of back story made losing a unit basically meaningless, unlike Fire Emblem on GBA where every loss was felt.
3) It was showing its age, to say the least.
4) It just felt unfinished. I can't quite put my finger on it (probably because I downloaded it

) but it felt like a rushed final product.

I agree about the battle graphics. Although I'm not much of a strategy RPG player, I simply loved the animations in the GBA Fire Emblem. Was extremely disappointed with the DS Fire Emblem.

It is a remake.

It seems like they're going through the history of games that never made it outside of Japan. They've skipped Fire Emblem Gaiden probably because its just a side story to the first, dunno.

Genealogy of Holy War will probably be next if and they're skipping side stories then we wont see Thracia 776 and then all that is next is The Binding Blade and thats the Westerners up to date on releases...if they release them outside of Japan that is.

They can stop after the second GBA game, just have them as VC releases and start new handheld stories instead.

nice. fire emblem games are sexy. i have to say though i lost some interest in them due to some characters getting terrible level ups about 5 levels in a row which screws up a good character. other than that awesome games.

i wonder how the graphics would turn out though. i liked the ds fire emblem graphics, though the gba graphics were better.

it was a great game with good storyline on the gba... i bet its the best fire emblem for them

I liked the GBA Fire Emblem (the first one, never played the second one)
but the DS one started to get me bored after 7 chapters, and since I didn't like the craphical style either (half anime, half 3d attempt) I decided to not play it anymore.
I hope this one will be better than the last one.

Hopefully we see it in USA/EU soon, really can't wait!

Oh My Fucking God! FIRE EMBLEM! I am a very big fan of the game series, the game I liked the most was: Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn and Fire Emblem Sacred Stones.

Quite, but no jobs or so.
It's best described as Advance Wars but in medieval times, and with characters that can level up and have items.
It's from the same developers, and if you like Advance Wars, you'll like Fire Emblem, simple as that

Game looks like the same, don't really care about that, Fire Emblem is Fire Emblem, graphics aren't that important in these games.
