The graphics look really spectacular. I mean, the angle mostly, you see so much and it's all so detailed and stuff, wow. Now if there would be real time fights thrown in there it would be really awesome but I guess that would be a bit too much

It does look awesome and it's The Wizard of Oz + anagram title, this is gonna be big.
That road is not yellow enough tho

Well pre-rendered BGs + real time generated objects for the things you need to interact with. It's possible.

Its possible but it doesnt look like it was done here... Unless the common events and player triggered ones had been injected with pre-renderred graphics/textures/effects.

Wow, this game looks cool. (it took me 30 long seconds just to get that RIZ-ZOAWD is scrambled Wizard Oz)

Graphics in the background and characters look great! Love the Tinman! Love the battle system too. Imagine Dorothy kicking gargoyle butt!

Doesn't look pre-rendered to me.. and looking at the camera view.. I don't think it would be possible..

Well, most consoles show their full power only after some years, when the developers get experienced with it.. Just remember FF9 on the PSX, God of War on PS2, Donkey Kong Country 3 on SNES, etc.. We can expect some pretty games to show up on the DS from now on

My opinion:
Took a closer look at the screens. Nope, its full 3d. The green orb proves it too, rotating the view 360 degrees. At least for the map view.
The battle map IS pre-rendered.

BUT unless we actually see a video of the gameplay, we cant say for sure.

Blashpemy ! Kingdom Hearts will blow you away, you just wait ! Dragon Quest Monsters Joker look similar to this, so no worries. I guess even IX will look on par with this, now if just Ubisoft and other crapelover could get the hang of such a beautiful engine.

Let's hope for a US version. (and don't forget Avalon Code which looks gorgeus too !)

I will laugh at you when Kingdom Hearts comes out for the DS and it looks like The World Ends With You.

the "story" isn't really interesting for me, but it does look nice.

looks like the gameplay of a classic rpg, but the view and world of a more modern RPG (from behind)

The game is based on the wizard of oz while the battle system is like etrian odyssey/dragon quest
