Gaming New computer not installing vista

I got a new pc
Intel i5 2500
Gigabyte motherboard
4 gb ddr3 ram
1 T hard drive
intel hd graphics


And I get this message during the installation of vista ( there was no os on it b4)

the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. windows installation cannot proceed .......

Yeah and I installed it again because of the error and it still comes up. What do I do?

First guess is damage to the disc or it's original image, second guess is faulty optical drive, third is faulty hardware in general, RAM or motherboard.

1 - Original or burnt disc? Try an(other) original.

2 - Try another optical drive.

3 - Run the memtest86 livecd on it.

4 - RMA the motherboard.

Remove one stick of RAM.
Switch the remaining one to slot 1.
Restart and enjoy.

What's with that attitude? Please tell us what you have done already before asking here. When does the message pop up? What happens before?

Agreed. The OP needs to try to install the OS on minimal hardware. If you're running two sticks of 2 GB RAM then just run on one.

Also, bad disc/media and bad burner are possible problems. If you know for sure that the disc is good then you could also GOOGLE how to do a usb install by ripping the contents of the disc.

Yeh I fixed it by installing it for a third time not sure why it worked.
