I followed the guide (wiiu.hacks.guide, Mocha + Indexiine method) to the letter. Samsung SD card and SSD were scanned with no errors. 32GB Wii U on 5.5.5.

In the HBL, when I select Mocha CFW and tap "Load", the screen goes blank for 2-3 seconds and then returns to the HBL. No Mocha splash screen. I do believe it is actually loading, though, because in an early attempt at installing a title, I hadn't started Mocha yet and got an error installing a DLC (via WGX2) which gave the expected error about signature patches. After starting Mocha, the DLC installed (and seemed to play) fine.

Is something wrong with my Mocha? The first time I launched it, per the instructions, I never got any prompt to configure it. Somebody in another thread mentioned there should not be a config.ini if it had never been started, however the above guide specifically instructs you to place a downloaded config.ini into the Mocha app directory. In fact, it is this config and the values haven't changed since it was copied there:

[MOCHA]
viewMode=0
directLaunch=1
launchImage=0
noIosReload=1
launchSysMenu=0
redNAND=0
seeprom_red=0
otp_red=0
syshaxXml=0

Second, WUP Installer GX2 has exhibited some odd issues. Frequently, it will freeze at "0%" immediately upon initiating an install. Interestingly, though, the activity LED on the SSD shows it actually writing, and if I wait until it stops to force shut down the Wii U (the only way to "recover" from this), upon restarting I see the title installed and seems to play OK. Reformatting the drive has no effect on this issue.

Any thoughts/help on these issues would be much appreciated. Thanks!

For mocha launch homebrew menu then select mocha immediately hold the b button and keep it held down until mocha settings screen loads. Select the options you want. Problem solved.

As for Wup Installer GX2 no idea as never seen this issue before.

dunno what could be wrong, but here's my config.ini. you don't need syshaxXml=1 (change it to 0) unless you're using cbhc:

[MOCHA]
viewMode=0
directLaunch=1
launchImage=0
noIosReload=0
launchSysMenu=1
redNAND=0
seeprom_red=0
otp_red=0
syshaxXml=1

Thank you. Over in this other thread, around 10 people there have reported the Wup freeze issue over time. I've also seen quite a few results searching for Wup freezing around other sites/forums. Whatever it is, it doesn't seem like a one-time fluke that only I've encountered. With little to go on, I tend agree with one theory that it all starts after a failed install. That seems to be about when it started freezing on me. A DLC required a sigpatch but I hadn't run Mocha yet so it failed. Then these freezing problems began.

Ok so the issue happened after a failed install. This failed install has probably fucked up the WiiU title database file thingy. Which is actually an easy fix.

All you have to do is go into the eshop and download absolutely anything. Just download a free demo and the eshop will then repair the title database. Then simply delete the demo in data management and hopefully all will be back to normal.

I've been trying to help @tendomonkey fix mocha and indexiine, but I don't think that's the problem tbh. what might've happened was just corruption. I can't remember which file(s) it is, but I'm pretty sure that part of the install files is a checksum to make sure there's no corruption. it won't harm the system, but you'll have corrupted data anyway (probably a question mark tile). the same thing happens if you inject an icon or splash screen for the tv or the gamepad (drc as it's known internally) with the wrong save credentials. I actually did this when I was trying to figure out the tga save settings. I think it happened to a game or maybe even haxchi, but I fixed it. :D

For what it's worth, I got all the titles in question via FunKiiU (and all of them have legit tickets, minus the DLCs). In the course of troubleshooting (mainly trying different USB SSDs/HDDs), I've seen nearly all of them both fail and succeed at various times on different external drives, which makes me not suspect the downloads themselves are corrupt (and what is the likelihood that *all* of them are corrupt, since I've seen the freeze at various times with almost all of them?). At this point I think it's easiest to just uninstall Indexiine and reset the Wii U and try starting over with the https://wiiu.hacks.guide to see if that helps.

Coming from 3DS CFW (which has been buttery-smooth for me on a half-dozen 3DSes), this has been a bit frustrating, but I'll keep at it hehe.

Thanks a ton for your help, guys.
