So basically, I repaired my new 3ds xl recently after around 4 years of leaving it broken. I had to replace the motherboard completely since it was damaged beyond repair, but I got the 3ds working with the new one. Everything's working fine except for one small problem. My 3ds will recognize that an sd card is in the sd card slot, but it won't load any of the data from it. I'd really appreciate it if anyone has a solution to this since I can't think of anything.

The problem i see right off is that you changed the mobo. which was what the sd card was encrypted to. Which means that without decrypting anything that card as is wont do no good. There are decryption options if you got the proper info needed before when that mobo was still working.

Well, I also changed the sd I am using. upgraded from 4 to 32 gigs. I'm assuming I would still need to encrypt it, which I don't know how to do ):
