Well he obviously can't do any of that since all his 3DS does is greeting him with a black screen when he turns it on. I wouldn't think unscrewing the backplate is that much of a hassle.
It's menuhax, I -think- if they were to hold down the button they chose to prevent menuhax from running it may boot sysnand just fine. If they had menuhax on autoboot then it's possible it would hang if it's for the wrong system version, but when you use the key combo to prevent menuhax from running I don't think it should get to the point where it would crash.

I may be wrong, though. But in any case removing the microSD card should do the trick, yeah.

Need your help...again. Can someone send me a menuhax_ropbin_eur_new3ds sys10.1 (the .bin file generated from menuhax manager)? need it for testing purposes

You would probably need more than just a ropbin, the actual theme itself that gets injected into theme cache differs between firmwares.
