It's a decent game, but it was really an unnecessary port. The control scheme works well. The graphics aren't all that detailed, save a few monsters and hieroglyphics. The sound strives for greatness and meets mediocrity. The password save could have been done away with.

The whole point of Serious Sam games is to be ambushed and overwhelmed by enemies and shoot your way out, but the GBA doesn't have the kind of power to push the polygons required to do it.

For some reason this game reminds me of an old PC shooter: Blake Stone: Aliens of Gold.

I give it a 5.5/10.

::developer walking into publisher's office::

Dev: I've got some good news and some bad news about Serious Sam Advance...

Pub: What's up?

Dev: Well, after two years of development, we've managed to make the chainsaw look absolutely awesome!

Pub: That's great...so what's the bad news?

Dev: Well, we only have about 10 polygons left for the rest of the game, and only two weeks to finish it.

It's official we now have a new contestant for the worst First Person Shooter on the gba. It just managed to take the title from Dark Arena or some other title with an equally forgetable name.
In my opinion Ice-Nine, Duke Nukem Advance and Doom are the best fps's on the gba.

This game could also take 1st place under the category of worst sound ever.
The only shooters for GBA that I have liked so far are 007 Nightfire and DOOM. But I've got to give it to them that is one nice looking chainsaw. Too bad it's so hard to aim the stupid thing, otherwise it might of entertained me for atleast a few minutes longer as I hacked through the monsters.

It would appear that not many of you think this game is any good then... So is it worth finishing? Indeed, the graphics look dissapointing, but after another look what Garp says is absultuly true. XD

And about password save... You either love it, or you hate it. It's as simple as that. :-|
