Thanks. Unfortunately it still doesn't save for me either. I tried the IPS and the utility on front page and have had no luck. Im using a FA2 Pro 256mb (old visoly card)
you should be careful about FA2 Pro 256mb (old visoly card) they has alot problems

Download New SimCity 2000 IPS Patch Here

This patch was given to me by tanas (of #gbanow) on the #gbatemp irc channel.
It has fixed my problem and I can atleast confirm it works with F2A 256.
I have not tested it with any version of pogoshell.
And I have tested it as a single rom and a multi rom cart, both works great.

Thanks tanas.

Enjoy all.

Awesome thanks! Fixed the problem for my visoly FA2 256 pro.

D-Pad to move curseor... A to select. why issues with this?

(edit) lol! read your question wrong... spaces. don't think you can, you will have to sufice with periods.

I've been playing Sim City a bit and i have come to the conclusion............................................................it's crap

Horrible, dodgy, sluggish controls. This game is something you don't play on a gba, only play sim city on your computer.

I think i have to go to the mental doctor if one more game is released in this hell of a week! Too many freakin' good games... especially Sim City 2000!!! *PLAY PLAY PLAY PLAY...*

Hmm, im still having bother. Ive used the save patch linked to on the home page, the new one thats linked to in this topic, and the new app thats been released for fixing all games of this save type, and i still cant get to the main screen but then it crashes. I guess this just could be one of those games that dont work. ISS did the same.

This game sucks. where is the subway, highway, sewers, hills, cool animations of cars etc. this game looks like sc2000 but plays as the original simcity. and the controls are crap and buggie.

I think you can't expect so much from a GBA game. The handheld has its limits in terms of graphic as well as sound and controls. Nevertheless I really appreciate it that Destination Software made a GameBoy Advance version of Sim City 2000!

So... your city name has to be

City or New.city

and your name has to be

Tonycool or Tony.cool?

Why can't I add a single space to the city or mayor fields???? What a mistake!!!! Only one word, no "spaces" and not upper-lower case letteres, sorry, you won't be able to name nEwCiTy to your city... name writing is a piece of crap...

However is a very good game... I think I will play it as I did about 10 years ago...

this game won't work for me. i tried every ips patch (v124 version 5, trm-sim, simips), but none of them work.

and yes, i have the right rom, the rom shows green in offlinelist....

Exactly the conclusion I came up with.

The roads don't even curve. >< I ended up making a pyramid... e.e;;;

to those still having troubles > are you using pogo shell? i tried it once in pogo shell and it does the same thing you all describe. Outside of pogoshell it works perfectly fine.

I think the spaces issue is a minor one, but still a really stupid thing to forget.

I'm also noticing that there is no way to get to see or modify your budget until the year end review.

But personaly I still disagree with the complaints towards the lag and poor controls... the controls are setup just fine... and the lag (which IMO is still very short lag time and very minor issue, if any) doesn't effect game play... so it's all good IMO.

I don't mind the controls, but I hate the rest of the game. these are the problems I have:

- it's definately slow
- there are fewer maps(and there's a LOT of water in them, and they're smaller, I need only 30 minutes to fill half of the map)
- forget about changing your map, and putting trees and water
- everything under the ground just disappeared
- no tunnels or hills
- only one saveslot
- no cars on the road(city is just empty...)
- no highways
- you get only three rewards for making your city bigger
- there's no ingame music, the music in the menu is irritating.

DSI was just cheap again, I hate DSI!!!! they give medal of honor underground 64Mbit, but sim city only 32. so I won't be buying it, I won't even play it, it sux...
