Recently, a new system title has been found on the Switch. This system title, code named "flog", has been determined to be an NES emulator. It has been documented on the SwitchBrew Wiki. This is most likely the emulator that will be used when Nintendo's paid online program is released with the Virtual Console titles.

Interesting. Not as much of an emulator as I had hoped but still interesting.

We were all hoping for an actual emulator. Still has yet to come along with homebrew.
