Emulation Emulator NERD DS VC Emulator - Are there different versions?

I'm injecting DS games and wondering if there are revisions to the DS emulator based on what game you use as an injection base.

US titles were released between April 1, 2015 and March 16, 2017, so in two years' time I wouldn't be surprised if NERD made changes to the software over time.

So, does anyone know this, or alternatively have specific recommendations for base games for DS injection? I could also see certain features being enabled or disabled depending on the game, depending on how much they tweaked each individual release.

Ever have an injection work with one base but not with another?
