Hacking NeoGamma Thread

NEO GAMMA R5 RC1 what the hell is this ? is it that damn stupid dol file?
what is needed here is how to make this thing work with the disk drive , not the usb , not the hdd or sd .....just the dvd ......what ios needs to installed , what loader to use , the settings .....I have read crap on here all day , and tried all the suggested shit.......
the only response I wanna hear is from someone who made this work with the dvd and how they did it

READ THE WHOLE THREAD all the information is in the thread believe it or not and written and quoted several dozen times!

Wiipower released a special version of GAMMA R5 RC1 specific for WiiSports resort as a TEST release build!


Its virtually the same layout as the R4 version of gamma with a few tweaks and fixes to make it boot Wii Sports resort using the ALT DOL function! .... the ALT DOL file is a file extracted from the WiiSports called player.dol and renamed to RZTJ.dol and placed in the NEOGAMMA\alt-dol Folder on your mem card then this in turn is loaded by setting the TEST build of NEOGAMMA to use ALT DOL and FIX 002 error and then LAUNCH DVD with the TEST build of NEOGAMMA like you would any other disk based game!

You need IOS36 R13 for most new games now just about!

you will also probably need IOS 55 and a few others also mentioned in this thread too

Sorry folks, a bit of a thicko here, but could anyone give me a "dummies" guide on how to get this onto my wii. I a currently on 3.1E using gamma 0.3 & getting a green screen with some of the newer games. I only ever use DVD's, so will this work. Heeelp, please.

fixed my original problem but now i get a run dvd error 721.

is this a problem from burning the image or a problem with the instillation of the homebrew?

Now, calm down man, I have been playing Wii sports resort from dvd for a while now thanks to your explanation on page 24 and Wiipower's test.What I meant was that this guy seriously need to GET a response from Wiipower, don't you think?

Edit: Just a tip, the folder for the player.dol renamed to RZTJ.dol goes in SD:NeoGamma not SD:NEOGAMMA\alt-dol , it should go then like SD:NeoGamma\RZTJ.dol, run it once,turn off alt dol in settings and there we go.Thanks again for the awesome work kobykaan and wiipower.

I'm trying to get Ocarina to work with NeoGamma but it keeps saying 'No SD codes found', which folder am I meant to put the codes in for NeoGamma to recognize them.

The same as the old Gecko OS and Gamma, codes. Maybe i will change that error message to tell you for which file it looked.

Yes, sd card compatibilty of the different IOS and cIOS (could) differ. But i fear all options that don't use the cIOS don't work with cIOSrev13.

I'm sorry, i'm soo stupid. I didn't think of that possibility, i need to unmount the sdhc card in your case or do something else. Expect a new version tomorrow or maybe already today.

Ah! I was using the new Gecko directory and not the old Gecko OS directory, thanks for the help

I encountered a couple of problems here

I tried running Guitar Hero Metallica and World Tour, bouth burned, and they wouldn't play, Metallica would just pop an error message on the back of the screen and World Tour would put a red Message after warning screen telling me the disc couldn't be read.

Later tried the ones on my hdd and only Metallica booted, World tour and later ghostbuster would froze up the screen withouth doing anything. Later i tried running the games with USBLoader GX and worked perfectly.

I'll be trying the burned ones with either Gamma Loader see if they work there, but on NeoGamme (latest release) didn't worked

BTW, the burned ISOS were extracted from my WBSF partition

What cIOS do you use? Which NeoGamma revision did you try? For Ghostbusters: 002b? Did you try the discs with Gamma and/or SoftChip? Wii region? Game region? Just freeze is not a precise description i can work with...

As I said, latest version of NeoGamma
i'll be trying the disc on Gamma and SoftChip later in the afternoon
Wii is a US NTSC on firmware 4.0

As for freezing, it frozend when it says loading game, i'll be giving you more feedback later in the afternoon, yesterday didn't payed up much attention, we were crawling toplay a couple of songs, xD

Sorry still not precise enough. Freeze in NeoGamma or inside the game? A freeze in NeoGamma while loading game could be caused by ocarina. Do you have ocarina enabled?

i got WSR working, you cant force the video mode, or not to PAL60, leave it as default and it works no problem

Now i hope my posts dont come across the way his did, but i have to agree with him a little. it would be very helpful for the rest of us (the stupid people) if you guys could put a simple guide/tutorial/direction or whatever you want to call it right at the start of the post, im mean come on, some of these threads go on for tens if not hundreds of pages!!! im sure it would cut down on what you perceive to be very annoying/stupid questions.

i dont care for wiisports, im just trying to figure out how to install this thing so it works. i've been messing with my wii for almost two weeks, and so far backup launcher 0.3 freezes up games, i cant get usb gx or Configurable USB Loader to work either, so im trying this instead per some recommendations.

but all i see here are bunch of guys talking amongst each other, patting each other on the back for good work. im sure this is a great application and you did a fantastic job.

im sorry im not at your level of expertise but i cannot read every single post on every single thread just to figure out how to install this, it makes things even more confusing.

so can you please just add a few lines at the beginning of the thread on how to install this or simple link to where these instructions may already exist.
