WiiGator's GC Backup launcher(HBC app...) is a very small program, it inits the drive, reads the disc id and then boots the integrated loader. And NeoGamma now just does the same when using internal GC mode.

Can you explain this in more detail? GC multigame discs have always been playable before. What's changed?

I have a problem. I'm trying to play Brawl+ using RC3 and loading from USB WBFS HDD. I first checked to see if RC3 would load SSBB without the Brawl+ mods, and it worked fine using all the default settings. Next I turned on Ocarina, and when I try to boot the game RC3 gives me a "You Are Stupid" error message.

That message has a reason.

QUOTE(Sabin_Figaro @ Feb 15 2010, 11:54 PM) Is gc loading based on 0.1xi or 0.2 or neither?

Gamecube Mode "internal" is using WiiGator's 0.2 loader.

That message has a reason.
Would you be so kind as to explain what that reason is? I searched for it in the readme but didn't find anything. Google didn't yield any helpful results, either.

The message is there so that people use their brain when getting it and not run to the next forum. You did 2 tests, 1st one SSBB works, 2nd one you get the error, what did you do between both tests? And then go back to the readme.

Finally got a sound file added to the channel like i wanted to.I tried using sound files i found online but couldn't get it to work properly for some reason so i just extracted the sound file from an older wad file of NeoGamma R7 that someone else made and i added it to mine.

It has been tested on my wii and works.

Hey WiiPower:

I tried to softmod a friend's wii, it has a modchip (But I don't know which) and whenever i try to run neogamma R8 RC3 any game (Resident Darkside, Smash Bros RIP, NMH2) from DVD-R it gives this error: DVD read error (1264)

Smash Bros works on Disc Channel.

IOS249 Rev 17 is installed.

Any suggestions?

That what's neogamma says.

I'm softmodding this over the net, so I'm not 1000000000% sure it does have a CIOS, but I'm assuming it does. It shows that, it allows installing wads and it has 3.3u

Maybe it's the cIOS itself that is not compatible with your modchip. Did you try SoftChip too? It could be that rev17 of the cIOS introduced something that hates modchips, i don't know.

Softchip gives this error using IOS249

:[-] no boot partition found
exception: wrong offset

Will try with Hermes.

RC3 is awesome work!
I could successfully reboot on my 4.1 PAL wii, but only then if Force cIOS was enabled, if not, it still gives the error message after starting the game from disc channel!!!
BUT after starting some games from the disk channel (Metroid Prime Trilogy, Another Code: R, The Conduit, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles - Echoes of Time, Dead Space - Extraction, New Super Mario Bros Wii, Formula 1 2009, RE - Darkside Chronicles) it gives Error 002!

Can you fix 002 Error in the rebooter?

No. "Force cIOS" is the patch that didn't work before and prevented the games to be played. When using the rebooter in NeoGamma, the system menu itself is using the IOS NeoGamma was started with. Without "Force cIOS" when booting a disc game the correct IOS is loaded to play the game, with "Force cIOS", the cIOS is loaded to boot the game.

And you get 002 error because the wrong IOS is loaded. NeoGamma gets rid of the 002 error by changing the info which IOS was loaded to fake the other IOS. On the rebooter that's not possible, because that info is overwritten by each IOS reload. And "Force cIOS" does an IOS Reload even if it has the IOS it wants to load already loaded.

Maybe there's some way to fix 002 error on disc channel without crappy main.dol patches in a clean way, but i don't know any and i won't spend time searching one. If somebody finds a solution, i may add it to NeoGamma.

PS: The patch "Force cIOS" is using is copied 1:1 from preloader. If you have little coding skills you can add every preloader hack to NeoGamma yourself. See identify.c
