Hacking Neogamma Auto Boot Mod

hey xflak40 and wii power first off great work, love the channel and neogamma. i know this is a little off topic but i really couldnt find a place for it. i am wanting to make and mplayer channel, but all i want it to do is play from wifi. it is for my grandparents so they can watch movie off my harddrive, and i think all the options are hard for them to understand. would this be possible without really messing alot of things up. thanks for the help.

second, i've never played with the source for mplayer_ce, but your question may have better chances of being answered in the proper thread HERE

my gut tells me what you're trying to do will likely cause bugs when running mplayer_ce (not to mention that u would have to continuously re-modify the source every time mplayer_ce gets updated), but i can't say for sure

thx man just got it installed, question I see there are 2 wads 1 is the forwarder and the other is a channel I installed both is that right or did I just needed to install 1 wad?

they both share the same title ID, so the second one u installed overwrote the first one

pick whether u want a forwarder or a channel... i think the channel is better if u have the blocks to spare

I was going to do this, but I expect WiiPower to release RC4 in a week or 2 (just a guess here guys, don't hold him to that!), so I think I will just wait until RC4 before making the next autoboot mod.

I would rather not have a repeat of RC2 autoboot, which was released just minutes before WiiPower's RC3 (essentially making RC2 autoboot instantly outdated)

Why not learn how to use the linux command diff? If you have the source of the autoboot mod and the original that it was made for, create a diff. And then if NeoGamma is updated, apply the diff to the new NeoGamma version and done. Or you could make a diff from old NeoGamma to new NeoGamma and apply these changes to your mod, whichever is less work.

PS: RC3 to RC3* is only a change in usbstorage.c

WiiPower mentioned r8 final should be released today (or soon), unless there are more bug reports in RC6 (which i dont think there have been). So the next autoboot mod will likely be the final official r8 release (which should be here soon hopefully)

but yes, the autoboot mod will continue to be maintained

I like your autoboot channel, but I think that the banner is a little bit "meh" (no offence). I saw a nice base wad, but I don't have the skills to make it to a nice channel. But I know you do

Well I made a channel for RC3 a while ago, it's in my sig or here. It doesn't have any animations (it's also static) but you may like it.
