Hacking Need some information on Bricking, and flashing

Okay, so I bought an r4 Sdhc or whatever, and it was 13$, so i'm thinking it's a clone...

I heard that clones could brick your ds, so i did some research and I heard that if you flash your ds, it could save you when you get bricked because of the recovery mode, or something of those lines...

I just need some information, MY r4 is on the way here in the mail, should I flash my ds (lite) before or after i use the r4?
what are the chances of the r4 bricking my ds?

I just stopped playing my psp and stuff and i went to ds, sorry i'm a noob, but i used to work with psp firmwares, and bricking and stuff. There, is a way to fix your ds when it bricks, right? Can anyone give me instructions on flashing my ds lite? and how to unbrick my ds lite if that were to happen?

I just bought this ds, i really don't want to f*ck it up..

btw, do games crash on the r4 alot?

Most of people brick their DS by flashing it not by malware
And the only cases of N5 (r4 clone) breaking dss have been BLOWING OUT FUSES

i have an r4sdhc and you have nothing to fear from it bricking your ds (unless you are stupid enough to run ds bricker or something)

Unless you use the r0mloader of the hetani veiwer (names they were distrubuted as) you'll have no probs, the DS doesn't need any flashing to play legal backups on.
