I hacked my wiiu back in 2017 I believe. It is still on 5.5.3 and when I boot it now I can just play all the games off my hard drive.
I just bought my kid one, who going off to college, it was on 5.5.6 and thanks to tutorials and scotts thing it was a breeze and I was able to put GameCube games on something I struggled to do with mine years ago.
I would like to update my wiiu to 5.5.6 and take benefit of aroma.
My mii app works fine and i cant get into homebrew via health and safety
when i hold x booting up nothing happens
I did find a website saved as homebrew in my browser,( the site no longer works) ovh. something I can get that if needed
I have screen shots of all the folders and some files on my card to show
I do not remember using ds game
in the aroma directions

I cant figure out how to get into homebrew with mine to confirm which it is
I would love to update mine but don't want to brick it

a couple of the folders were added recently I think wupinstaller and nintendont were only 2
I did find an article with a guy in a similar situation on here but he said it ended up not being hacked and it didn't say how he updated if it was hacked and it showed no signs(he got his second hand though)
I am re-reading about modding a 5.5.3 looks like holding a or b might get me into homebrew without a website? I am pretty sure that i Did a kernel level mod/hack since all my games show up as icons from the USB HDD
not sure where to go from here
