I want to use the offline method of installing
So where do I put the .wad file?

It says it when I am about to install it, but I don't understand it

It should tell you which version of the IOS and which filename it expect.
You really don't have network access on that Wii? Can't move the wii to another place/home/friend to install the cIOS?

It says it,
But what is fat0? I have heard of FAT32 but not fat0

I guess it's the first device using FAT32 partition, so Fat0 would be your SD card formated as FAT16/FAT32
Fat1 would probably be USB partition 1 etc.

But, even if I'm almost sure, it's just a guess.
