Hi guys

Long story short - I have a Old 3DS on 9.4 FW. I have installed Homebrew Launcher (Browser) but when I try to play / open Pokemon Sun / Moon, it says I'm required to update to 11.0 FW. I haven't updated. I have been asking around for help but all I get is charged for money and get no help at all.

What I want to be able to do is: Be able to hack Pokemon Sun / Moon - (by making Pokemon's shiny / changing IV/EV, changing movesets etc.) and play it on my OLD 3DS.

Please can someone help me here. Thank you.

It is very highly recommended that you follow the above guide to install A9LH.

https://plailect.github.io/Guide/
This will give you a custom firmware that guarantees access to the homebrew launcher (and more) even on the latest firmware (so you can play Sun/Moon (and more)).

Hi. I have used this to install Homebrew Launcher for 9.4. But I don't know how to get the custom firmware. :/

Hi. A9LH is in the 2.1.0 row. Will this brick my system as I'm on 9.4?

Follow the directions in the 9.3.0-10.6.0 row, and it will walk you through how to install A9LH and CFW.

If you look at the bottom of the guide, you will find the part that asks you to proceed to the 9.2 downgrade.

Thank you. I didn't see the bottom part of the guide. The last step I see is A9LH like you mention.

Once A9LH / CFW has been installed. Will the Pokemon Sun ask me to update to 11.0?

The guide includes the step of updating your sysNAND to 11.2. This is safe once you have A9LH and CFW installed.

It's at the end of the guide.

Hi again.

I am on this section https://plailect.github.io/Guide/9.2.0-downgrade

I have installed it good, everything was verified and got the black screen then I powered off and took out my SD Card, and turned it on and checked my system firmware and it's 9.2! But do I still do 10?

Clear Home Menu’s extdata by navigating to the following folder on your SD card: /Nintendo 3DS/(32 Character ID)/(32 Character ID)/extdata/00000000/
  • EUR Region: Delete 00000098
Or is this for if the 9.2 downgrade wasn't successful? Do I just move on to the next part?

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

If this worked, you should Clear Home Menu’s extdata by navigating to the following folder on your SD card: /Nintendo 3DS/(32 Character ID)/(32 Character ID)/extdata/00000000/
  • EUR Region: Delete 00000098

I have 2 folders with 2 00000098 folder. Which one do I delete? :/

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

It doesn't even boot to Homebrew Launcher any more when I hold down D pad, it just goes to home menu. It's on 9.2.

:(

You don't need homebrew launcher anymore since you're on 9.2. Use this https://plailect.github.io/Guide/decrypt9-(browser) part of the guide, you will use Decrypt9 to backup your sysNAND, then flash the 2.1 CTR image so you can grab your OTP and install arm9loaderhax. Just follow the guide from there at step 1 and you should be fine.

Thank you.
Go to “Ticket/Titlekey Options”, then select “Ticket Dump (SysNAND)”
Press (Select) to eject your SD card, then put it in your computer
Delete all .tik files in the /files9/ folder that do not start with “00-“
Leave all the .tik files that do start with “00-“ in the folder

Do I do this after it's dumped it or right affter I select Ticket Dump? Because its dumped it all successful even ones that start with 01. :/

Backup your sysNAND according to the guide. So you do this after the ticket dump
Section III - ctrtransfer
  1. Go to “SysNAND Options”, then “CTRNAND Transfer”, then “Auto CTRNAND Transfer”
  2. Select the 2.1.0 ctrtransfer image when prompted by pressing (A)
  3. If you do not already have a NAND backup, backup SysNAND to NANDmin.bin when prompted by pressing (A)

Thank you.

Where do I put the NANDmin.bin file once I've selected back up?
Back it up to a safe location on your PC, as if something goes wrong, you can use this to restore your 3DS.
