Got my hands on a black console with no signal output. Tried UDPIH with no luck, tear it apart and found Hynix MLC inside, so I believe the only way is de_fuse.
Managed the soldering part, check the continuity with multimeter and all wire are fine. Boot it up with pico connected to PC and the de_fuse seemed works but no minute menu showing...

Here is the logs

The output stopped here:

Code:

Tried eject and power button, only 4-sec power down works, the screen will then output:

Code:
[pico] Changed state: WIIU_STATE_MONITORING -> WIIU_CHECK_IF_POWERED_OFF
[pico] Changed state: WIIU_CHECK_IF_POWERED_OFF -> WIIU_STATE_POWERED_OFF

minute is the latest v1.1, I also tried jan-hofmeier's branch, the result is the same. Also tried unplugged and plugged 3V3 with no change. The pico is an unofficial one, but it can boot UDPIH and recovery menu.
I attached the fan and cover the CPU heatsink back, it just feel warm in an A/C room. Btw the DISC indicator is on, no idea if this is related. And I used a 2GB SD card, should I try a 1GB one?

I connected the disc drive back, now the DISC indicator is off when powered on, but all other things are the same... de_fuse stopped at
Code:

Solid purple power indicator, no HDMI output.
Any help?

What is it doing if it is not defused (Pico not powered)? Does it blink blue? Could be bad dram
Based on the troubleshooting part on shinyquagsire23's github page:
If the final line is 0x1E and the error code is 0x00, that is an invalid SD card. Invalid SD cards seem to hang boot0.
So I brought another two 1G SD cards and the results are the same, no more "Error code: 00" this time but it still stopped before showing minute.
Can it be a faulty SD card slot? But if I remove fw.img from SD the indicator will flash in orange, so it is reading the file...
I am stuck here....

Seems there are some extra 00 01 81 in the output compared to the standard log given...

Na it's not a SD problem. The boot 1 from SD is executing (which runs from SRAM) but it crashes when control is transferred to minute in dram

Oh no, are you saying this console's RAM is faulty? so no more reviving after I spent 1 hr on the soldering? :cry:

Suppose you could find another Wii U and transplant the BGA memory chips... if you're already an hour deep into soldering work then what's a couple more hours, a BGA stencil, some solder paste and a temp controlled hot air gun :)

No idea what type of memory it uses specifically but I'd be surprised if it was still readily available.

Haha! Yeah I think with the amount of copper on that PCB it would be hard work removing those chips without a proper pre-heater and without frying the chip.

I agree I think now is a good time to stop :)

Probably, to make sure we would need to run a memtest. With that you could then also figure out which chip is bad. Fixing that would require BGA soldering. You could probably source a replacement chip from @Lazr1026 but doing the BGA rework isn't easy and needs some practice.
