ROM Hack Need Help- 3DSController

I'm currently trying to use it to play FF8, but only the circle pad function. The other buttons won't even register. Does anyone know why?
I tried to set up the buttons in vJoy like the circle pad, but can't because it also won't register in vJoy.
All the buttons work in emulators though.

Don't use the cia version, it is bugged. use the 3dsx version from homebrew launcher
