Mount and Blade is pretty fun. Not much of a story or plot though. If you want multiplayer you could also try the standalone addon Mount and Blade: Warband. There's a demo you can try off their website.

Try World of Goo. It's a fun physics game where you have to build towers of goo to reach pipes.

I'll try World of Goo

Thanks for the suggestion

Btw I think Just Cause is the type of game I'm looking for, would my laptop be able to play it?

Maybe, but Just Cause 1 kinds sucks from what I heard. I definitely recommend Morrowind. I have Oblivion on my 360 and its awesome, and Morrowind is just waiting to be installed on my comp (my PC is shitty too, worse then yours actually

World of Warcraft, and you could give the "The elder scrolls" serie a try.
Don't know if oblivion will run well on your PC, but I'm sure the other parts, morrowind etc, will run just fine.

Oh and ofcourse, Diablo II.

He should be able to do some emulation, that throws in NES/SNES/GBC/GBA (Possibly). There are some big SNES games that should suck the time away

and they give you an appreciation for older game development ^^ For titles for these games just look in the general consoles list and track down the essentials list =D

I always try and recommend Fallout as a great old RPG series (1, 2, and Tactics). You can also look at www.gog.com Good Old Games for older games. Steam is also running a special on the Deus Ex series today if you haven't played that before, I played 1 and it was good, never tried 2, reviews seemed to make it 'meh'.

Well Morrowind looks like a awesome game so I'm downloading it atm, it's gnna be awesome with all the high res mods and stuff i found. Especially the one that brings the world to life

Morrowind is actually my favorite of the Elder Scrolls series; better than Oblivion at the very least. But I'd still recommend a mod-free playthrough before adding on to it, just to get a real feel for the game, although if it's just higher-resolution textures I suppose that's not a problem.

- Intel Pentium 4 3,2 GHz, Intel Pentium D 2.66 GHz, AMD Athlon 64 3500+
- 1 GB RAM (XP), 2 GB RAM (VISTA/7)
- 256 MB graphics card, DirectX 10.0 or 9.0c compatible, Shader Model 3.0
- GeForce (6800/7600-7950/8600-8800/9600-9800/GTX 260-280) or Radeon (X1650-1950/HD2400-2900/3650-3870/4650-4870)
- 6,5 GB of free hard drive space

It doesn't let you change graphics at the moment tho, so its not worth it atm.
