Hi I wanted to know what pc is better for gaming for the price since I am in the market for a custom built one, my old one isn't doing well anymore sad to say and I don't know if any of these are worth the money that the seller is asking I have seen both and they work fine I just wanted to get opinions on these two I plan on using one for gaming and general use 1080p/60 fps in games

    first one selling for $350

    specs
    AMD FX-8320 Processor
    Asus M5a97 r2.0 mobo
    16gb g.Skillz ram
    Asus GTX660 2GB graphics card
    Cooler Master HF 912 case
    Corsair TX650 PSU
There is also blue/orange LED's installed in the fans

no hdd but that doesn't matter I have a few and a gtx 1060 to switch out the 660

second pc is selling for $400

    Core i5-6400 2.7GHz Quad-Core Processor
CRYORIG C7 40.5 CFM CPU Cooler
ASRock Z170M-ITX/ac Mini ITX LGA1151 Motherboard
    Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory
Rosewill 700W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

Machine is running in a Cougar QBX mITX case. Nice and clean, small form factor case.

I like the i5 but no idea if my 1060 would fit in its cramped case also no clue how good that cpu cooler is

The Cougar QBX supports GPUs up to 350mm in length, so I doubt that a 1060 would be an issue. I also dislike the Cooler Master HAF-chassis quite a lot. They're spacious, but they're ugly as sin and takes a whole lot of room.

Edit: The FX-8320 scores higher than the i5 6400 and the 16GB of RAM as opposed to 8GB is also a smaller upside for the first computer, but RAM is easily upgradeable and Intel CPUs do run cooler than AMD ones a lot of the time.

Ddr4 isnt cheap right now, prices are hovering about $85 for a matching stick,
I also dont trust the rosewill psu, they are a very low end budget brand

On the plus side though it is newer hardware, you could always stick a newer kaby lake cpu in there with a bios update on the mobo.

Okay. There is no reason to buy an AM3 FX series chip. They're 5 years old at least at this point and hard to upgrade.

You're right, this is a "what do you think" thread. I'm not fanboying around.

I gave you my opinion. Won't make that mistake again. :)

Not used that specifically, but used plenty of Gigabyte boards in the past and using one now, never had any major issues. Reviews for the board seem fine to me, unless you meant user reviews? I wouldn't really pay too much attention to user reviews, people always complaining when something don't work, but hardly anyone leaves positive stuff.

I'd still take it over the fx8320 for gaming, 8320 is getting on a bit now, and didn't have great ipc even when it was released.
