Gaming NDS Mario 64 on 3DS

I've heard some say that DS Mario 64 is one of the few games that is better with the circle analog pad.

I must be doing something wrong. For me it's horrible. Mario plods along at a walking speed no matter what.

What's the trick?

does the Circle pad suck? i thought it felt really nice when i used one.

Even though the slider pad acts like the D-Pad with DS games, using the slider pad instead makes control more natural, at least imo.

I feel like it would make some of the DS games feel a ton better.
