Hacking NDS Freeze / Firmware flashing

I updated to the latest firmware with my DSi. This will require me to flash the firmware of my DSTTi, however when I
try to do that using my first gen NDS the DSTTi just freezes. When I launch a game it freezes and when I try to launch an
homebrew app it freezes.
Maybe re-install it, I used this very same NDS to flash it the first time ( had to sell my R4 as that one didnt work anymore ).

Any suggestions :/?

Reformat / Reinstall did the trick.
