i just got a cheap card from someone selling in the paper on the front it says R4i 3ds V4.5 but it wont work on my 9.4 3ds or my girlfriends fw 8 3ds does anyone have any ideas

DEAR da1e85 now seriously, you asked for help, even if i am a jerk, i gave you all you need.... for the last time
make your choice about theese cards:

DSTWO that is hard to find now because everyone wanted it!

I merely asked a question I don't want a ds two as for half the price I can get a card which does exactly what my gf needs she isn't into emulation or homebrew just the art of plugging in and playing a game I realise where I went wrong I bought an earlier version r4 card which is now blocked I paid 5 euros for it and sold it again for 10 to someone who wants it for a ds lite it works perfectly for them but it didn't for me so oh well you live and learn.
I have purchased the r4i rts and that works flawlessly and even plays nes and snes games so all in all it is cheaper and not much different to the dstwo

da1e85i am aware about the DSTWO situation. i just told you a lie to keep things simple instead making a long post explaining the information that is everywhere. i assumed if you would search for which card to buy before making this same thread that appeared every week for the last years we were not in this situation

a dstwo is a better investment going forward, the r4 is just another clone card, they have a history of abandoning customers when they update their consoles.
supercard, who make the dstwo, have a much longer history, and a great one of releasing updates either first or nearly first when they are blocked.

That would be why you'd pay more for it.
If you're sure you're not going to update, you'll be fine with what you got.

I got one for my nephew for christmas, because of just this, along with the other features the card offers like pretty lackluster emulation, real time cheat can be a good way to get them into programming too, when they're older. Messing with memory addresses.
