Hello,

Hopefully I am posting in the correct thread here, and if not, feel free to move me.

So I recently hacked my new 3ds, and am running all software up to date, luma 3ds at the best version, ect. Lately, I've been having a better preference for using .nds roms on my sd card rather than fiddle with a flashcart (just a personal preference). The trick is though, no matter if I use DSIMenu++, TWLoader, or even forwarding the files to CIAs on my home screen (my favorite), for some reason utilizing download play crashes the receiving ds and cancels the connection. I guess what it boils down to is: is there something I'm missing, or is it just not possible without a flashcart? any help would be appreciated, as I'd love to get into playing old ds games again with my friends. Thanks!

The game you're trying to run, uses cloneboot for DLP, so that's why the other DS crashes.

I see that after a brief lookup of the topic that someone brought the subject up a couple weeks ago, but no one has replied since, and there's next to no information on this subject. Could you possibly provide more detail on this, and any ideas on how to circumvent this? Is there some kind of protocol that flashcards and retail carts use to move around this for DLP?

They are working on it.
You can actually use TWLoader as a forwarder for your flashcart games I believe (and possibly DSiMenu++ too) and you can even make forwarder CIAs for your flashcart games, so that might be a good solution for you.

The other DS crashes, because the game is patched to read from the SD card, instead of Slot-1, and as a result, RSA doesn't match anymore.
I have no idea how flashcards get around this issue.

Probably because it's a physical cartridge? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
