Use a teensy 2.0++ for the extra IO's. You also need to remember that this NAND chip in the wii u has TWO 512 MB banks so both need to be dumped.

Dumping via the SD hack job is a rather shitty way to do it especially if you have a 32 GB console because it will take forever to dump it and you need to dump it AT LEAST twice and then compare the dumps to make sure there was no corruption in the data.

I'm 99% sure you need a dump of BOTH the NAND and the eMMC to have any hope of restoring a bricked Wii U. The SD hack job alone will give you part of a dump, but not enough to restore from a brick, as the NAND and eMMC are tied together.

Can I dump both of those without a chip or a chip with a really low price?

Okay. Teensy is the best choice for that? I have a 32GB Wii U so... I think this is the chance for me

Yes it is, but be prepared to do a little programming bc I don't think anyone has developed the software yet to dump the eMMC through a teensy, but you can dump the 2 NAND banks with a teensy.

I was planning on working on this but I don't have the funds to purchase a wii u so I didn't bother with anything more than just the theoretical ideas.

Okay, thanks. But how I need to wire the Teensy and dump the nand? Can you send a tutorial? Thanks!

No. I don't own a wii u, so I have not done it yet. Send me a wii u and I will get this all figured out in about a month or 2 tops.
:D okay, but I'm in Hungary so that will take a lot of time :D anyone else?

I had no success with the SD hack. Those solder points are pretty small and I would def recommend a fiberglass scratch pen for easier soldering.
Thanks for the recommendation. Can you send me a wiring "blueprint"?

Ehh. those are simple. You just need the right tools for the right job. A proper iron and good flux make the world of difference. I have soldered some pretty tiny things. A good preheater makes it easier as well.

you simply figure out what the nand chips are (model number) then get a public pdf detailing every point you could possibly need, much like the days when people moved from flashing eproms for nes roms to using eeprom, find the docs.

Thanks for the suggestion. Will return to this tomorrow in the afternoon (19 hours from now(posting time))

I would really love to have a Wii U emulator which emulates all the chips and stuffs

You can dump the nand pretty much the same way bootrom bin was accessed. You will just need to target the nand.bin instead of bootrom.
Also, you can combine source from bootrom.bin and the vwii nand dump tool and make some small changes. Also, you need to change where the vwii nand dump writes a 1 then exits to write a 0 then exit. That should move you from vwii to wii u nand bank.
I think there is a wii u homebrew hex editor floating around somewhere. Would make the reading process easier to do within the wii u itself.
MN1 would be the guy to chat with and Crediar as well.
