Hi,
I’d like to hack my Old 3DS XL (firmware 4.5.0-10E) never hacked before. I read the guide on https://3ds.guide, but I’m wondering how I can backup the sysnand BEFORE installing Boot9strap. Is it possible?
Thank you!

Is it enough to run the following steps from this guide, even on my current firmware 4.5?

2. Copy Decrypt9WIP.dat from the Decrypt9WIP zip to the root of your SD card
7. Eject your SD card and put it back in your 3DS
8. Open the browser and go to the following URL on your 3DS
https://dukesrg.github.io/?Decrypt9WIP.dat
9. If the exploit was successful, you will have booted into Decrypt9

Mmm well yes. If you can launch Decrypt9 then it's okay.

Yes, but you can't use the latest version of decrypt9 provided in the link. You will have to scroll down and find one that has the .dat file.

There's not really any point in doing so. B9S ONLY modifies firm0 and firm1, which SafeB9SInstaller does back up.

a nand backup isn't strictly necessary before b9s (a brick here can be fixed with only a f0f1 backup), but if you really want to, you can just run gm9 the same way you would run safeb9sinstaller

Thank you all!
I'd like to backup sysnand not only to recover from a possible brick, but also to restore the original firmware if in the future I had to remove the CFW.

you can make a backup right after you install b9s, which is still good enough if you then want to remove cfw/b9s entirely later.

Another little question: can I run Godmode9 with browser method, self-hosting the exploit files on a personal web server (e.g. Android)? If yes, which files have I to 'serve' on the server? This in order to prevent from connecting the console to the internet, to avoid a firmware upgrade or getting banned.
