I know I'm I probably gonna get a lot of shit for this, but I'd still like to think that its possible. I know that N64 emulation is incredibly complex but even my shitty $60 phone can emulate N64 at a playable rate. Is there any concrete proof that it's not possible to emulate on 3Ds? Or at least some kind of strong evidence? I want to know why it hasn't happened/why it's so improbable.

I mean... that's not "exactly" why...

Look at the tech each console/handheld uses. And then look at their specs as well. That's teh main reason ;) The whole "N64 is hard to emulate!" thing is really not true. At least not anymore.
I never understood why it was hard to emulate the N64, when I was little I had a N64 emulator on my wii and it ran smoothly for me

At a point in time, it was fairly difficult. Right now, it's just BS spread around because one person decides to believe what another says, and that chain keeps going and the belief increases exponentially by others. It's pretty easy to run nowadays given the right hardware (And most hardware nowadays in smart phones, for example, can do it very easily.)

Thats what I thought considering a $40 raspberry pi could run n64 and ps1 games

Actually even high computers still have issues with several games. N64 has never been an easy to work and it's still not easy to work with.
There are hardware limitations with the 3DS (especially with the old3DS,) but there's still several hurdles to overcome when dealing with the N64. Which if PC's struggle with these hurdles, I doubt the 3DS will fair any better.

Worked for mine when I had it. Ran very well for the most part. I remember playing Smash and Zelda on it. I think Kirby was a little wonky though.
Thats news to me, and also when I still used my wii i remember trying to play kirby and it just never worked so i guess thats just one of those games most emulators have trouble with

pretty much what Lilith had said, but Why its hard for PCs and anything in Context but seems "Easy as f**k" for your HTC or high end phones is these emulators aren't accurate! they trade emulation accuracy for Speed. alot of games break because of unimplemented instructions, inaccurate "Estimations" of a emulated single chip or such.
