So yes I can understand that for some people it makes no sense starting it this way and they get confused and create a thread here to ask for help.

I do not see your problem. Why did you become part of this forum then? Not to help anyone out?
Look at my posting count.

May I also introduce you to the difference between

- helping someone out
and
- helping someone out that doesnt rtfm, or search, or read, or find a youtuber in this field that isn't the equivalent of a door stop.

This change had to be introduced mid-life for the modding scene.
The devs couldn't go with 'simply install this .nsp', because installing a (non Nintendo) nsp is a bann risk.

To describe the issue - sometimes you had to explain to people that album isnt a game. Like, you know - the fun game album, you play all the time - and the attitude to come to a forum to get you reading deficiencies fixed by a personal support agent - is simply wrong in general.

So - this is an issue, that couldnt just be dealed with by pointing out 'read this rtfm' because - you have people that never installed a game on their switch. Or, you have people that dont mind getting banned. And people that do.

So in the end you supported people individually for close to a hundred times. On that very issue.

With no 'fixed terminology' (album is not a game?) you could apply to it prior to recent releases of HBL (now the modes have names).

And your question was - why were you not more friendly?

Because the time investment and showing of proficiency of being able to use available tools like search of anyone asking the question is so low - that you can assume that they will never get self proficient, and never be of any value to this community (now - to the advertisers they will be of value - which is a conflict of interest (and the reason why many forums advertise themselves to be - perfect support experiences)). So I'm not that interested in helping such a person out.

Once in a while - I will pick up such a request as well (if no one else has done it), to remind people, that its not enough just to switch off your brain, let others do the reading work, and then ask for personal support.

This is literally one of the main functions of your CFW this is not detailed special knowledge, where you would need personal support for.

Also - I always give the answer as well. Its just that you can't play "perfect support experience for everyone". There is no functioning forum community that also could claim to also give good support to everyone.

On XDA switchroot devs flee from having to do public interaction, because the level of support questions you'd have to deal with start with - 'how do I use my phone'.

On Apples support communities, every third question is answered with "you are doing it wrong", or "its not supposed to be able to do that".

A support environment, where you can get proper answers to your questions, but that strongly encourages you to learn stuff on your own, to then be more helpful for others as well (because in doing so - your knowledge becomes deeper, than if you just let your questions being answered by forum support), is my preferred support environment.

Also playing white knight for 'tone' is usually - useless. ;) People might react to rank, or warnings, or good arguments - but in the perception of most people here this is our living room ('third place' - see: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Third_place ), so if people start to give suggestions like 'give nicer support responses' -- it kind of stops being that kind of environment, and feels more like a professional workplace. We dont have those restrictions in our communities in reall life - because people are treated as people and not as support beacons. If someone has a bad day - you accept it (to a certain extend).

If someone alway preaches about 'being all polite' being not the correct way to manage a 'excellence' (we all learn stuff) driven community - theres usually some place for that person as well. ;) (As long as he/she doesnt become too bothersome. :) )

To be fair, when you put it in perspective like this I can understand you reaction (well I didn't see it because of the deleted posts but I let that to my imagination).

Yes I have seen your post count. And saw your level.
At the moment it just seemed a bit harsh, but when you are explaining it like this I can relate to it.

But they are not all like that.

OK, granted. Explaining that the album is not a game...
If you are doing a proper search and take some time to do the reading you have must have known this..

Yes, if I correctly read it then @m4xw said that the nsp forwarder to HBL is not even officially supported.

Yes, I have also been a member of the XDA forum quite a while. So I have seen that yes.
If you search around the forum you will find your answer and that also applies here.

But aside for being polite I just wouldn't response. In that way you force people to Google, rtfm or search the forum again.

To be honest I Googled this: https://www.google.com/search?q=gab...7j33.4728j0j4&sourceid=chrome-mobile&ie=UTF-8

And the first hit answered all my questions the OP stated.

For example I did a cfw jailbreak some while ago and started to read about Emummc and yes it took me quite some hours to figure everything out and to understand how it works.

So I hit some slopes on the way but in the end I did learn a lot and on top of that I shared some info here in the hope they don't have to spend the hours I did.

Was not to offend you btw, I was just curious how and what and it's clear to me.

In the end though I would not have responded at all in the thread.

Damn dude this thread comes up as a top hit google search for n64 switch homebrew. yall should delete this thread it's absolutely embarrassing, Just a thought. The info was good but sifting through drama isn't a good look for a forum, nor fun to do.
