Homebrew N3DSXL: How screwed am I?

strange maybe if you format the sd card and put it back in it might work, I am unsure though.

Try restoring it in recovering mode, hold A+R+L+Up(DPad) at boot, this will update your system though.

This is what happens. I'll try recovery from here.

Do you have to do anything special to get into safe mode? aside from the A+L+R+up and power. Not too sure why you can't update.
