TL;DR: N3DS freezes randomly and I need help figuring out the cause

Rebooting after such freeze results with both screens being black (the backlight doesn't turn on), and the blue LED is glowing as should. The console needs some time (from few minutes to few hours) before being able to boot up (and then randomly freezes after some time).

Things I've tried (and didn't fix the issue):
  • Charging/switching battery
  • Formatting/switching SD card
  • Downgrading from 9.8 to 9.2 with firmware from Plailect's Guide
  • Formatting system memory
  • Opening it and making sure that all the connections are ok
Places where crash occurs:
  • 3DS games
  • Home screen
  • System settings
  • Dumping/injecting SysNAND using EmuNAND9 (on various percentage values)
Have any of you guys came upon such issue and was able to fix it?

Are you using A9LH? What happens when the crashes occur? Does the backlight instantly turn off? You mentioned EmuNAND. What are you using to launch that? RxTools? ReiNAND? Luma3DS? Can you recreate the crash and tell what exactly you were doing when it crashed?

Are you using A9LH?
I'm in the process of installing A9LH. Crashes occurred all the way from stock 9.8 through downgrading and obtaining OTP.

What happens when the crashes occur?
Both screens are displaying image, the backlight is working, but console freezes and stops receiving any input. If it crashes on the homescreen, current icon stops rotating (everything freezes). It it crashes during EmuNAND9 dumping, the percentage value in lower right corner stops updating.

Does the backlight instantly turn off?
After crash backlight is constantly on. The only way to turn the console off is taking out the battery or holding the power button for 10 or more seconds (until screens turn off). Turning it on after crash results in glowing blue LED (as usual), but the screens stay black and the backlight doesn't turn on (long pressing power button will turn off the blue LED).

You mentioned EmuNAND. What are you using to launch that? RxTools? ReiNAND? Luma3DS?
I've been using both Cakes and Reinand, but the same issue was present (even when I was running N3DS without SD in)

Can you recreate the crash and tell what exactly you were doing when it crashed?
Crashes are random. You can turn the console on, let it boot to the homescreen (SysNAND) and leave it in peace – sometimes it crashes after just 5 seconds, sometimes it can live up to 20-30minutes and then freeze. It can crash right after entering System Settings, and sometimes you can navigate it freely for few minutes.

To me, it sounds like a hardware error, not a software issue. I'm not sure how to help with hardware issues. Hopefully someone more experienced could give more input.
Yeah, that's what i thought and that's the reason I've posted in this subforum. Thanks for your time :)
