Just writing to confirm that slasher's tutorial on Page 4 worked for me. (Great Job slasher!)
Previously my exploit wiped when running a DS game on My DStwo.
Tried his tutorial and the exploit remains after running a ds game.

Some info:
NA MMN3DS XL
Firmware 9.0.2
Flashcart: DSTwo.
No Whitelist or Timewarp installed.
Sysnand & Emunand are Unliked.

You're the 1st to confirm that running ropinstaller/GWinstaller twice in a row works... but for a lot of people it doesn't.
My theory about this behaviour is that the exploit has to be stuck at leat once before this "run-it-twice"-trick works !!
So what we need to confirm this theory is someone willing to remove the stucked expoit (achived with one of the other methodes) and then try the "run-twice-trick"
I had stuck it previously, but then I did a nand restore, so it was clean, then I ran that twice in a row, actuall sequence of events, installed nvram, installed bluecardfix, installed mset usa, installed bluecardfix again for good measure, then ran gateway.nds it froze half way through, rebooted n3ds, ran it again, it worked, rebooted, and finally ran it one more time.

Yeah, probably really stupid question, but how am I supposed to change any DS Profile settings when accessing them is the very thing that kicks me into the GW menu?

Why does holding select remove the exploit?

Does this mean we can not put regular DS games in their native resolution as it also requires holding select?

Guys i am totally confused now and really need help please

So i followed both the guides provided, i installed the mset.cia and bluecardfix.cia without any problems, i was able to use the profile along with L to boot up N3DS into GW mode without using CN

So, next tried the bluecard and loaded up and backups loaded fine

So removed the blue card and put the red card back in and went back to the profile exploit and as others have already said it no longer works

Now this is where i am stuck, as it stands bluecard works fine, GW works only by running CN first

So how do i get the profile fix back working as well as the bluecard working ??

I tried changing my profile name and this did not work, i tried going back into GW menu and reinstalled the mset.cia and bluecardfix.cia files, but as stated the bluecard working fine but not the profile exploit

Somebody please help on the next step in simple terms (i have read and re-read the guides) but am still stuck

thank you in advance

UPDATE:

Really weird glitch, so finally bluecard is working and mset exploit has "stuck"

However now whenever i use the profile exploit to load GW, it loads me all the way into emuNAND mode bypassing the GW menus - wtf lol ??

So i can use blue and red, which is great and profile exploit is stuck but now when loading GW it goes straight to emunand

Anyone else experienced this ?

this is actually what is meant to happen with GW, it has always happened via the MSET exploit, new comers who only started using GW on n3DS may not of experienced this though as it only happens if you have the GW card inserted when booting gateway mode (which isnt possible if you use oot or CN to enter GW mode as you obviously need to have CN/oot inserted)......to force accessing the GW menu, just hold L while booting into gateway mode, or remove the GW card before triggering the exploit

thank you so much for replying gamesquest1

i am very relieved that everything is "good" with mine, i appreciate you taking the time to explain

cheers - Peter

I tried both the color change trick and the profile rename trick and it's so weird. The exploit will stick for a few tries but then eventually becomes "unstuck" again. I have no idea why. It's so strange!

This worked for me too! Thanks so much!
Previously the profile exploit was wiped till I tried this. Below are my actual steps.

1) Install the exploit using the N3DS_ROPInstaller.nds; e.g. Profile Name: slslasher
2) Go to settings and change Profile Name to another one; e.g. Profile Name: slslasher01
3) Launch a DS game, exploit would be gone
4) Install the exploit using the N3DS_ROPInstaller.nds again and it should be stuck

Extra Steps because I want to change back my original profile name
5) Go to settings and change Profile Name to my original one; e.g. Profile Name: slslasher
6) Launch exploit and test, there should be an error.
7) Install the exploit using the N3DS_ROPInstaller.nds again and it should be stuck
Amazing! It works! i tried on my japanese new 3ds !

I'm new at this, I didn't know about all this until 4 days ago, so I don't understand a lot of the terms , that said.
I have o3ds xl running sysnand 4.4.0, and emunand 9.9.0.
I go througth ds profile to access rxtools to play installed cias, but yesterday I used my dstwo to play some DS games, and now when I go to sd profile I can't to rxmode anymore, I know all the talk here is about n3ds but is there a way to to fix this for the o3ds and if not, is there an alternative way to play sd games been it installed like the 3ds ones or something?

Run the gateway installer .nds again, you can run it from the dstwo. No way to make it stick on o3ds.

Every times I play a DS Game (Gateway DS Flashcard for play Ace Attorney xD) I need to re-install the NVRAM (-_-)

ok, i used rop and reinstall through dstwoand now i can access emunand again but now i get this random wrapped gift that is empty any way to fix it?

For anyone who doesn't have the exploit getting removed, can you play DsiWare CIAs in Gateway mode?

No, as it doesn't have the patches to do so. Through the guide provided to make the DS Exploit stick, I was able to do it(for Gateway, select 9x Launcher.dat), I was able to make the exploit stick by following the directions.

Played Super Mario 64 DS on my Supercard DSTwo, still able to get into Gateway via DS Profile.

Then, I booted up Pasta CFW and played Zelda: Four Swords DSiWare, turned off system, turned back on, went to profile, still able to get into Gateway via DS Profile.

Booted up Pasta CFW, then Cubic Ninja for the Gateway Ninjhax exploit(MUCH easier than turning off the system to switch to your EmuNAND, booted into EmuNAND, turned system off, turned back on, went to profile, still able to get into Gateway via DS Profile.

Haven't tried GBA games yet, but from what I've done so far, it seems like I can't break it at all. So, all seems good.

I just installed mset and timewarp cia on sysnand like everyone else. Didn't do anything extra and exploit doesn't get removed when launching blue card for some reason.
Also, I installed nvram AFTER the mset downgrade unlike on the gw website's guide. I never touched nvram install before downgrade. Maybe thats the reason but I don't think it is.

I did it the way Gateway said in their guide, NVRAM first, and then downgrade system settings. Following the guide made mine stick too. So, it's not that.

Hammy,

Did you ever have any luck getting this to stick? I seem to be having the same symptoms. I ended up installing the MSET CIA file through CN > Pasta > CN > FBI. Not sure if you used the same workflow.

Edit - Nevermind saw your more recent post. Looks like I will need to work around it!
