Hacking N3DS Browser on O3DS?

Would it be possible to somehow modify the New 3DS web browser to run as a standalone app on the Old 3DS? And not like the normal browser does? I mean you wouldn't be able to run it with a game suspended, but it would have access to more RAM.
 
Even in the case that would be possible, there would be no interest in doing that. That would not be worth the amount of work it would need in order to get it to work.

I don't understand why people aren't attempting useful homebrew like a better YouTube app or browser that's actually good for something other than hax.

That's because almost everyone owns a smartphone that does it better. Also, writing an entire web rendering engine/adapt an existing one to a platform like the 3DS that is quite limited in RAM is really something most people don't want to do, so we stick with what already exists. If you think that would be really useful, do it, and spend hundreds of hours doing that (that would not be less than that actually).
