Hacking N3DS 4.4 CFW

I got a N3ds that has firmware 4.4. What should i do next to get a CFW on this thing? Update to 9.2 somehow? I'm trying to play this extra safe since i bricked my other N3ds =\

You mean o3DS? The n3DS shipped with 8.x right?

How do you have a n3DS on 4.4? Unless you mean it's an o3DS. In which case you should be able to use any of the current CFWs on 4.4 just fine. Load through the browser, eg. http://dukesrg.github.io/ for Cakes.

So you have an o3ds, the best thing you could do is update to 9.0-9.2 and follow the plailect guide to get the otp and install a9lh. If it's too difficult just install menuhax with cakes or rxtools.

Yes, a9lh is real coldboot, faster boot time and perfect boot rate, menuhax is autoboot, slower boot time and 90% boot rate.

After making the cakesfw settings i'm unable to boot in cakesfw. it keeps booting into sysnand no matter what i do.
Also not sure if it matters but i'm see "Failed to load FIRM" in the cakesFW screen where i could boot to CFW/select patches, etc
