Okay, so I downloaded MyMenu 1.2 and MyMenuify 2.2 with some MYM files that were included. I know that you use MyMenu to convert the MYM files into CSM flies. So I ran MyMenu putting both the 00000072.app and the MYM file in their correct spots. A few seconds later, it spits out a file. I rename it "Theme 1.csm" and drag it onto my SD card. Then I ran WAD Manager 1.4 and installed the MyMenuify 2.2 WAD using IOS 249. A minute later, I have the MyMenuify channel. I run it, find the .csm file, try to install it and it says ERROR: Unable to instal theme. I don't know what I'm doing wrong so any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hmmmmmm How did you get the MYM ? Also, how did you get the 72.app ?

Try launching mymenuify with HBC, not with a channel.

Are you sure you dled the RIGHT mym file? Because it exists .mym files for 3.2 and for 4.0

I am actually about to do the same thing but don't have any brick protection on my Wii yet. Working on installing BootMii as Boot2 but the file available on the BootMii site is an ELF file which isn't recognized by the HBC anymore. Once I get BootMii going then I'd be happy to trudge through Menu updates with ya!

I'm sure I downloaded the right MYM file.

And I got the 72.app from a poster on another site.

Maybe the 72.app is corrupted

Or maybe it's not the right app xD
* 00000040.app = 3.2 NTSC-J
* 00000042.app = 3.2 NTSC-U
* 00000045.app = 3.2 PAL
* 00000070.app = 4.0 NTSC-J
* 00000072.app = 4.0 NTSC-U
* 00000075.app = 4.0 PAL
So if you're 4.0 NTSC-U, then 72 is what you need

I've been going there and I'm sure it's 72 since I'm on 4.0U. I might just download another copy of the app and see if it works.

I think it will boot that elf ok.

BootMii successfully installed on LaunchDay Wii running 4.0U (already running HBC).

Got my 00000001.app via the NUS Downloader (unpacked WAD) and renamed to 00000072.app

Installed MyMenu on my PC
Added MyMenuify to my SD Card (application works just fine)
Downloaded two themes (DarkWii and Matrix) via the MYM Repository Wiki both for 4.0U
Added a "CSM" folder to the root of my SD card and saved the theme files from MyMenu to it

Attempted to load themes onto Wii but was greeted with "Unable to install theme" for both themes I tried. Did I miss a step somewhere?

This is exactly what I did after seeing suggestions here. I'm kinda glad to see someone else has this problem lol.

Ok, found and installed MyMenuify2 (more of a command line interface, not the gui edition)

Attempted to install both themes and got the same error each time:

I had the same problem. On my Vista laptop Mymenuify doesn't rename it to .csm automatically. You have to manually add this.

Get some brick protection, cause one of the two theme's I tried actually bricked me. Matrix theme worked for me. I only cannot get the custom healthscreen for some reason.

i believe that you dont have the correct app file. I had the same error and i used NUS to get the wad first then i used wad unpacker and it spit out a new 000001app file then i renamed that file to the 42.app file ( 42 in my case cuz i have 3.2 U ) and it worked fine.

Yea, have BootMii installed to Boot2 but realized that I never actually did a NAND backup. I tried this and it won't backup my NAND for some reason, so now I'm more confused.

I had actually already tried both the extensionless file and tried renaming it with '.csm' but neither file worked.

This is *identical* to what I did except my file is 00000072.app, so I'm not quite sure what you were getting at with this. (Maybe talking to the OP)

csm file is an app file renamed to .csm it should be fine to rename to 00000072.app and install with softmii's installer

Isn't a CSM file a renamed "ZIP" file, and not the same as an APP file? I most definitely could be wrong here.

Ok... You have a problem with patching files...

Did you patched your 72.app file with the mym file in MYMENU (and not mymenuify) ?

If not, do so and install the CSM...

A .csm is an .app file renamed to .csm (that's why mymenuify can install .app files...)
A .mym file isa ZIP renamed to .mym, it's the PATCH and NOT the .app

Rename it back to the name of the app file, put it on the sd card in /softmii/, and use SoftMii tweaks. this is a bug in mymenuify for some people - if you get it, please provide this info:

- System Menu version
- how you upgraded/downgraded
- what cIOS installed (if any)

Your .csm files were created correctly, if they were not, MyMenuify will issue a different error.

Using MYMENU (program installed on my computer) I choose my 72.app file as the source and the mym as the "MYM File".

This processed and allowed me to save a file with a name of my choosing. I went with "DarkWii" as the name. Initially this file didn't have any extension, and i have tried to install it as both "DarkWii" and "DarkWii.csm" and neither work.
