Hacking my mic on ds lite doesn't work anymore???

hi i was playing zelda spirit tracks and i got to this bit where i had to use the mic. i tried several times and nothing happened. i thought it might be coz i was blowing too hard and blew softly but it still didn't work. i tried the mic function on another game without success. a few days ago, my mic was working fine. how do i fix this? do i have to disassemble my ds?

Just wondering, were you using earphones by any chance?
I heard there are earphones that might ruin your mic.
Anyway, if it doesn't work then I would suggest you to get earphones with a microphone for the DS as replacing a new mic is REALLY hard and you will most likely ruin your DS in the process.
