Hi. I solve some problem with dump and pkg installation with disconnection of usb third party shitty joypad before reading/writing from usb. Usb pendrive on usb000 and pad on usb001. Sure ps3xploit dev can solve the problem

(blank dvd-r disk in the ps3 bluray drive, that may skip the "push PS button" prompt, never tried that)

(your UPDATE, goes in the root of your usb stick formated to fat 32 (use "paragon partition manager", any size usb stick to fat 32, not exfat) your usb stick can only be 32 gigs or smaller, i used a 16gb stick)

(usb stick goes in the port to your right when facing the front of the ps3, controller to the port to the left) (if you didn't install hantoolbox 6.0.0 or the updated one 6.4.0, just go to the p3xploit page forget what it is called that you installed the HAN hack from, then, just install the package file for the hantoolbox 6.4.0 or 6.0.0, there are modified versions of hantoolbox you cannot use to install games on your 4.82 official firmware ps3 with HAN installed)

(the @play or "play" ps3 controllers work fine, with the ps3 in recovery mode that pops up after you install a new ps3 harddrive, your update for 4.82 firmware, even if your on 4.82 firmware already, its for the new harddrive only, (max 1000 gigs i think, i have max 500 gig and the stock 250, both with games just have to unplug and put the other one in that all), goes in the root of your usb stick "ps3/update/" update file goes in there, with those folders in root, i think)

(there a new hybrid firmware hack for 4.82, more confusion for noobs/newbies, just stick with HAN)

What? I have cfw not han. I wrote the post just for suggest the usb pkg or pup update problem with usb pad on usb001

(you should be able to install "HAN TOOLBOX" on cfw on ps3, then maybe try to use those options to install the pkg you are having trouble with, just a suggestion) (I guess you have a damaged usb port? ......... most of the hacks suggest using usb stick with update on the right port, with your controller on the left port ............ not your usb stick on the left port, with no controller or with controller on the right port ................. let us know if you find a solution)
