3 videos on DSfanboy. Looks more fun than guitar hero.

Music Monstars is a new music game developed by Novarama and published by JoWood Ibérica, which combines the gameplay styles of Ouendan with instrument-simulating music games like Jam Sessions and Band Brothers in an interesting way. Notes are played by tapping shrinking circles on the screen as in Ouendan, but those circles correspond to keyboard keys, drums, or guitar strings in such a way that players play the song in the game by tapping. Eventually, then, it could be possible to play the song without the "assistance" of the circles.

But to really see why Music Monstars is awesome, watch the above video. Then have a look at the two after the break. We really, really hope it gets released outside of Europe (but with the band Europe intact).

Oh I was just watching this at dsfanboy and thought of posting it. Damn you

Anyway, I kind of like the idea but the full-length songs don't seem too good for on-the-go gaming but might be ok for long trips. Also I'm not sure if the exact notes, kind of high difficulty and same backdrops won't make the game boring, we'll see.

I'm definitely looking forward to this game. Also, noticed the lyrics? You can do some bad karaoke while playing the songs, yay!

Is it out now? If not, when is the release date for Europe?

Most of the music games for the DS are impressive. Good thing there's an addition to that!

Ooh nice!
DS has got two great music-related games to look forward to: Rock Band and Music Monstars (to add with the awesome Jam Sessions)!

Personally I thought Elite Beat Agents was a bit too easy (though fun), and hopefully this will be more challenging. I hope this has a better roster of tracks though, some Elite Beat Agent songs make me wanna vomit!
