Does anyone know where the SAV files for multiple profiles on a game are located?

I was playing Pokemon Platinum on a different save profile and need the file. My only other idea is to load the game under the 2nd save profile, and perform a real-time save; then load the default save profile, apply the RTS, then save the game. It works, but I don't want to do that a lot. I'm also very curious, so I need to know.

Try looking for files like romname.1.sav and romname.2.sav (this is how the DSTwo handles multiple real time guide files).

If not that it may be that it's located in a different folder (in the firmware/system folder?) or they're all embedded in the same sav file (doubtful).

It's not anything like that

There isn't another sav file for Platinum. I even deleted the sav file, and the game still has all of the sav info!!!! I don't see it in the system files either.

So...you deleted the sav file and all the saves are still there? Or just the 2nd save?

I deleted "Pokemon Platinum.sav" and my the game still had a sav file to use. I think that it's a hidden file with an different extension.

Well then, set your computer so it shows hidden files and look for anything that looks like 'Pokémon Platinum.SAV'.
I already tried that

I meant that it probably uses some weird file name and extension.

I'll fiddle with it tonight to see if I can find where multi-save save files are kept.

I'm pretty sure that real-time saves are .rtf0, .rtf1, .rtf2, and .rtf3, but I'll test it and check it out. Yes, I just checked and I am correct, save slot 1 corresponds to .rtf0, save slot 2 to .rtf1, save slot 3 to .rtf2, and save slot 4 corresponds to .rtf3. If you name your saves, it will have *insert rom name here*_*save name that you entered*.rtf*whichever slot you put it in*

So, if I real-time saved my ROM named Dementium II on slot one and named it YOUOWEMEMONEY, the save would be named Dementium II_YOUOWEMEMONEY.rtf0

Regular in-game saves are .sav

PS: doesn't anyone know what the .dtc file does? i've been trying to figure that out

Thanks, but I knew that. I believe rtf is real-time file. The save isn't Doesnt have the normal .sav extension.

so you saved normally in the game and you can't see the .sav? well that's... interesting

He's using the multi-save feature, which allows you to switch between 10 different save files for each game.

I honestly don't know what that is lol, now i feel stupid, it's some custom saving mechanism that you download to get 10 save files in pokemon games?

Open a games options in the EOS and there'll be a multi-save option. It just let's you easily have 10 different save files per rom without having to go in and rename each one whenever you need to use one or the other.
