I want to read divx videos from my data DVD discs. So I load rodries' MPlayerWii and choose Play files from DVD. It attempts to read the DVD, but it just shows an empty path.

Normally if you don't have a Modchip, you have to install DVDx. But I have a Wiikey and I remember reading somewhere that I have to install something else in order for it to work.

So what do I have to install? FYI, never installed a cIOS or similar before on my 3.2E Wii.

Spacejump, install in this order.......
DVDX
LIBDI
PATCHMII
(install patchmii, not normal ok) (ONLY need DVDX, but it's better to have libdi, patchmii aswell)

then try.........

BTW, it probably can't find the path if your using +RW etc.... use -R its good stuff, i don't use it but i test it......i have my own dvd data recorder/player. (special PC drive style)

Get back to me when you do this spacejump, also hope you can manage that dol forwarder i requested, top man!

What are libdi and patchmii?

And are you sure a Wii with modchip needs DVDx?

What do you mean with not normal?

step 1) Install DVDX
If you do NOT have a modchip, install DVDX (Normal Install)

If you have a Modchip (DVDX) doing a PatchMii Install (not a Normal Install) IT SAYS ON THE DISCLAIMER

Funny dialog...let's stop it and ask questions too
nyanya.gif

-What can you play from the DVDs? Only divx-files? Or all the files that MPlayer supports?
-How do you get the files on the Disk? I know you should burn it as bootable, but simply drag the files in the DVD?

Thats the questions that I can't answer..hope someone can...

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
So that version is semi rare
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@Psionic Roshambo, I have a rom of the ds version of impossible mission
