I'll second that. If you do attempt on Linux, ensure you have an reasonably up to date version of SAMBA or you will likely rip your hair out.

windows is by far the easiest shit for SMB, even with Linux sorted, it fucks up...

Yes it does... I use it all the time. Check your facts before you make a statement like that. You need to do some config editing to get it working, but its hardly a pain to get setup.

works for me too watch movies all the time through the wifi

thanks for the info. but I'm still confused about the streaming part that uses samba. I don't seem to get that working as wel.
