I can remove dvd/usb/smb support and see how far that reduces things - I'll come back with an answer later this evening! The current dol is ~5.7MB. Does 200KB really make that much of a difference?

yeah i seen it, iv'e looked through the source, i haven't tried it out yet, we'l see.QUOTE said:ok, this looks cool
I've never tested anything with network streaming before.
the readme mentioned SMB, but that seems to be a linux thing? i'm running win xp. So how exactly do I make this work?
i already set up the folder in windows as shared.DJDynamite123 did the readme, he says WINDOWS XP is the Best for SMB, which it is....Linux can be a "Pain" follow the readme. it's simple for XP users![]()
Just released, Wii-Radio, a Radio-Client..still in early stages...but maybe you can look at the source and integrate it to MPlayer?QUOTE said:Does this work on 3.3U V1?
Been while since I've been hacking the Wii.
Kind of lost =P
yeah it does....it will work on all system firmwares. BUT if you happen to be on 3.4 you cant play DVD's as you can't install DVDX......BUG TEAM TWIIZERS FOR THAT!
Please can you read dynamite's readme.....It clearly says "It can be used as a channel" he implemented autochain for that reason, HOPEFULLY legal channels.QUOTE said:Can this version of Mplayer CE be created into a Channel? or will it codedump on exit?

Yes, all you need to do is set up a share in Windows and then edit the smb.conf file in your apps/mplayer_ce directory with the correct information - for XP user is probably Guest and password 0.kedest said:UranusKiller said:DJDynamite123 did the readme, he says WINDOWS XP is the Best for SMB, which it is....Linux can be a "Pain" follow the readme. it's simple for XP usersQUOTE said:ok, this looks cool

I still have no idea at all what to do. What exactly is smb samba? Am I supposed to install it? The website only talks about linux, I can't find a windows executable anywhere.
Or is setting up the network share under windows enough to make it work?

Power off your wii.
Insert USB
Power On Wii
Load up MPlayerCE by whatever loader you are using
Browse USB
There are already a few issues and not even one of them has been rated, clasified or got a Status.UranusKiller said:any issues, report it to google code thankyou!

Sorry about that, we are working/testing on things, we have now updated some of them, some we have to work on.....But thanx for those posting issues on google code page, makes it much easier.QUOTE said:any issues, report it to google code thankyou!

Wait it out, it will load it takes a while. I think if you delete the smb.conf from the mplayer_ce folder on sd card it might not take as long to load. I think I read that somewhere in this thread.kimikal27 said:

Using XP? it's mounted therefore it should be able to browse it, is the folder shared correctly on the network?QUOTE said:Mplayer seemed to successfully mount the SMB share when it started up, but when I try to browse the share it just shows the SD card contents. Am I missing something?
