the main reasons i got my M3 was for games, and mp3s. but i cant seem to get them working very well. they are either extremly quiet, or if i try increasing the volume on the converter software they are extremly distorted. is the mp3 thing a gimmik? or can the m3 play MP3s at the same quality of an ipod or other mp3 player?

Same quality? Not even close. This is just something good as an add-on kinda thing. Definately not a deal-breaker.

It works for me just fine cause I work in a quiet office and I have ear buds from my old MP3 player.

As far as the volume goes..I dont usually go above 200x

And of course, these are just my experiences with this

Guys, just put out some money and get a Nano or something.

I have an iPod Nano + a pair of Sony In-Ear Fontopia MDR-EX51LP headphones (mix of cheap/quality/sound) and it sounds 10 times better than the DS.

The DS was meant for playing games, not a multimedia playhouse like the PSP.

I also recommend normalizing all your MP3s to the same decibel using MP3Gain.

Yeah, I agree with yee, but even further, you can get a cheap-ass MP3 player for peanuts these days that plays just fine. I mean, I've got 4 iPods, but I carry my cheap iRiver 256 around with 20 or 30 songs, and am never worried about losing it.

Geeks always have a bunch of the cheapest ones.

I recommend getting one of the Sony E100 series MP3, very small and compact, uses one AAA battery and gives out 70 hours of battery life.

Also, the sound quality is amazing, but still do yourself a favour and get a pair of aftermarket headphones

Most places sell these for cheap (in Canada anyways).
