Hardware Moving 3ds files to bigger mem stick

My n3ds xl has only 4 gig stick i want to put in 16 or bigger in whats the best way of doing this

1. Copy all the files from your old SD card to your computer
2. Copy all the files from your computer to your new SD card

Before step 2 formatting the new card to FAT32 and making sure it's not fake etc

Doing those can actually make some files not work, best way is to let the 3DS format the SD card by just putting it in and waiting until it loads the home menu. Here's a nice guide I found way back that also explain the steps for the very large SD cards (64/128GBs):

How do you manage to plug a "mem stick" into the N3ds? DId you shove it in the headphone jack?
