Gaming Motherboard won't recognize my GPU.

What do you mean by what type of bios is onboard. I think UEFI or whatever it is called i don't know.

I mean, what kind of a BIOS chip do you have? What's the make of the BIOS on-board? Is it AWARD Bios? AMIBios? Phoenix BIOS? There's numerous types, y'know. By checking what kind of a BIOS you have,re-creating the error and comparing the beep pattern to the patterns listed in the BIOS documentation, you can pin-point the issue you're having.

Apparently the board also has a debug LED display, why not use that?

I don't know i have but all the display gives me as far as debugging it are ones that are associated with just booting up my computer. Like i said there is one beep then after that the display lists normal things for starting up my computer.

You mentioned a different reaction when you disabled the on-board graphics, set the PC to use PEG graphics instead and connected the monitor to the graphics card. You should compare that beep pattern/debug display result to an error list.

In your UEFI BIOS, open the Chipset menu, use either mouse or keyboard and enter "System Agent (SA) Configuration" then "Graphics Configuration", under Primary Display select Auto, for Internal Graphics select Disabled, make sure you have your HDMI cable plugged into your graphics card and your monitor set to HDMI as input, test if you have video output onto the screen, you can have your VGA cable plugged into the motherboard to navigate the BIOS until you've configured the settings to work with only the graphics card at which point you can remove it. As you have been modifying settings in your BIOS I'd recommend using the Restore Defaults setting before you attempt to change the settings to get them to work as I don't know what else you have changed which could cause conflict.

Yes it is in the uppermost slot that is available. I have just tried setting my graphics setting to peg and the code i get is a d6 which is not listed in the manual. I have just also tried leaving the primary gpu to auto and setting the internal graphics to off and it does the same thing. Man this is becoming frustrating.

Error code 06 means that your motherboard is initializing and attempting to POST, is your graphics card fan spinning when you turn on your PC?

Yes my graphics card is spinning when my pc is turned on.

And does your graphics card show in device manager whilst using the internal GPU whilst booting with default BIOS settings?

No my graphics card is not showing up at all just my internal., Also just checked DXdiag and it is saying the same no other graphics besides default. Man i hope i don't have to RMA.

Hoestly I think you might have just gotten a DOA card. It happens, unfortunately. Last I had to rma through Newegg their policy was still that customer had to pay return shipping. I ailed their customer support politely voicing how though I know it isn't their fault that the product was faulty, it isn't the customers either and I didn't feel it fair that the burden of return shipping was placed on the customer. The cs rep told me no more than abminute later to check my email for a paid label he had just sent me. So if you do rma it, it's worth trying to ask for a label.

Video cards aren't supposed to be that hard to set up. Save for the occasional bios upgrade, I've never had to do anything other than disable the on board graphics and install the drivers. Otherwise, you pretty much just put it in and go on your way once you hook up your pcie power cables.

Yep - they're typical Plug & Play hardware. If you did everything mentioned in the thread to no effect... the card is probably dead, sorry.

Man well that sucks then i might RMA it tomorrow or something. It is a EVGA gtx 460 card would that make a difference for RMAing it seeing as my 30 days for the card is long past.

Before you RMA it, try plugging it in the second PCIe slot.
