I don't know if this has been done/asked for before. But I own an R4 card and I after patching a japanese version of Mother1+2 on the GBA with an English patch and putting it on the card I realise you can not play GBA roms on the R4 card. Is there anyone who has made a homebrew of Mother1+2 English patch as an .nds file? Many thanks

sorry but you cant play gba roms on a r4 you need a gba flash cart like a 3in1, ezflash 4, supercard mini sd or what ever

No, you'll have to use an emulator.

The only decent one for R4s is snemulDS, which has various issues.

The special emulator for the DSTwo is much better, but only runs on the DSTwo.

Can you specify the specific issues with the SNES emulator? Also is it just like an NDS rom that loads into a SNES emulator which can select SNES roms in the same directory or what? Thank you

Mother 2 from Mother 1+2 is so screwed up you can't even play it properly, besides it isn't on english language and it has so many issues relating sound and sprites, using a nds SNES emulator like Snemulds also shows up a lot of issues while playing EarthBound.
So if you really wanna play EarthBound on the go, I suggest a PSP with CFW.

As I said in the OP I meant the English patch
And I also asked what the issues residing the SNES emulator were..

The english patch does NOT translate Mother 2 on Mother1+2, it only translates Mother 1 entirely.
And issues about screwed up sprites on and out of battle mode.

unless you got like a hacked wii or something, just play it on your pc using an emulator. otherwise you simply wont have any fun with it. ever.

in that case, play it on any of the available snes emulators on the wii. it should run nearly perfect.

Windowing doesn't work, layering is messed up (as the DS has less layers than the SNES), and lots of games don't even run.

Yes, that's generally how emulators on the DS work, they're little homebrew programs you run like a DS ROM, and then you can select a file to launch.

And yeah, I guess I forgot to type the line where Mother 2 on the GBA isn't translated, which is why I specified SNES stuff instead of GBA stuff (but it's the same deal, the better one is on the DSTwo).
