nothing beats the simpleness and compatibility of YSmenu

But GUI-wise AKAIO and M3 Sakura are unbeatable.
I never used M3 Sakura but I've seen enough video reviews to know how great it is.

I wish I could load YSmenu from AKAIO...

Thanks to all those who voted.

Results Summary:

  • akAIO is a clear winner.
  • Wood has scraped in 2nd place in front of the DStwo's standard menu.
  • Only 25% of tempers actually use the original cards firmware, most of those being DStwo owners as other makes have long since stopped releasing updates. Suprisingly some tempers are still using the original R4 firmware.
  • 46% of tempers preferred to use a replacement OS. Credit goes to all the teams who are involved in making the replacement OSs for non profit and in doing so keep the older cards alive and well.
  • 27% of tempers prefer to run homebrew menus over the cards OS. I thought this may have been higher as there have been some fantastic homebrew menu solutions written or patched by some very talented tempers.
  • Finally there were 3 tempers that don't run ROMs from the flash card. A couple of saints amongst rogues?? Even with pirating ruled out I would have thought the carts would have been used as a backup and simpler solution than carrying around multiple game carts. You wouldn't believe how easy it is to send a game cart through washing machine when you have kids.

Cheers
