Gaming Most hated GBA release group

I find intro's way cool and entertaining, as most .nfo's. I remember Mode7 as a cool group who released lots of GBA ROMs back in the days

Getting dragged in...

The Health and Safety screens on games epitomizes what's wrong with today's society.
Intros with music are awesome at first, slightly irritating after a while.

It's their time, money and skills that get these things for you, and all you to is bitch ...
1. My first time bitching about anything on here TYVM
2. I'm allowed to bitch it's my time and money downloading the stuff then i got to sit through a few mins of the pointless Forced "About Us" crap...

How the hell can you people actually condone "intros" when most of you want to find a way to remove the health warning Nintendo put on the later releases

It's you whingy kids that makes a lot of release groups wanna quit ... ungrateful, spoiled children, the lot of you ...

I finance rom dumping, and seriously, people like you make me nauseous ...
Oh come on, Bob not ALL of us are like that. I dont tend to mine intros at all, or the other stuff that goes along with ROMS/HOmebrew etc as sitting through that is a lot faster then getting off my butt, getting a job, paying bills, buying food, and praying fervently that theres enough left over to go in my "Gaming Fund Jar"

You shouldn't make blanket statements, they hurt me

*watches Gba Driver 2 Intro*

well... i didn't think that stating my opinion would be such a problem.
i'm neither spoiled nor lazy; i think i just appreciate gba release in another way than you oldskool dudes do. i like watching gba intros, but i like reading cool nfo's a lot better : D

@bob: that was a pretty harsh comment. never read anything like that from you before.

I agree, MUGS was the worst. I remember her bitching here all the time, and I somewhat recall her adding trojs and viruses to her rar'd releases.

Mode 7 on the other hand.. respect, yo.

the official gba scene releases are full of crap roms (intro hacks, save hacks, over/under dumps, trainers, etc etc)
which have all been redumped over the years so theres no need to have any hacked roms nowadays
if you use OfflineList or ClrMAME Pro & the pure gba dat from advanscene you can collect just clean roms with no hacks (if you dont like intros that is)

I'd imagine that the reason they made the intros unskippable, was to annoy whingers like Jack-Of-Trades.

No offense mate, but you are wrong:

This applies to roms or anything else - you can't complain at being given anything for free - either buy your own, or refuse it; you don't have to take what's been offered to you for free.

Comparing intros to health and safety warning screens is like comparing a huge intricate mural to a no entry sign. They are works of art, home coded programs that display a stylised animation with a groovy soundtrack. What's not to like? Philistine.

I've only encountered one Mode 7 rom with an intro, Wario Land 4.
It wasn't bad, a Mario bros style animation although devoid of music, but entirely skippable.

I haven't a single problem with it.

Speaking as a member of a former C64 releasing group, I have to say I really do miss the intro splash gfx and great work done music-wise (gosh, I so loved that SID chip). People today should learn to relax as an NFO file has to be the least intrusive means of a groups recognition ever.

I don't like mugs and their pokemon shit and would prefer the intros to be seperated from the dumps, like the ISOs etc, but sure, it's their dump and it's their call

Oh my god, the guy loses 1 minute off his precious life every time he plays the game. If he like starts up and plays the game like 100 times, that's more than one full hour he'll never see again.

Ooooh the humanity.

In short, you could always just buy the friggin game eh. Cheap bloody complainer. Likely thought it took too long to download it too.

i usually don't mind the intros, but i'm trying to play Zelda - The Four Swords, and the stupid intro with the monkey asking if it is a banana in your pants is really pissing me off,is there a way to remove it,or is there a zelda rom that is not from them?(i tried looking, but i keep getting the same one)

i rember back in the days when the dreamcast scene was about there was a lot of intros in the isos and they were unremovable, i've even encountered a few old xbox games that had intros in it too, most of them are annoying though as you can't skip them.

Wonder why no-one puts intos on DS roms? Is it because the abililty to dump roms has become easier that if one group famous for putting in unskippable intros and another group releases one without intros, the latter would be more downloaded.

I can totally see listing Mode7, but it's hard to get truly mad about it too. I used to really dig the old chiptune and demo craziness you'd get in the DOS systems in the late(very) 80s and into the 90s so their work was fun to see. Where getting into hating them the most comes in was where they'd stuff one of those things on a game in such a way that it just could not be removed, and in some cases can't be skipped (at the least right away.) No one should be jacking up an original game stuffing stuff like that in there especially if it can't be removed because some people like to keep things real and original. Mode7 honestly was part of the reason I went and picked up a GBA copier because I got sick of that stuff and wanted pure dumps, though much more so I liked emulators on the go like PocketNES and Goomba which came after I had one.
