Well Worms Open Warfare on the DS was a massive let down, it kinda felt like a mobile phone game and was very very limited, however despite this THQ has just announced a sequel to it, imaginatly titled Worms Open Warfare 2...its out in July on DS & PSP, I swear the first was out in like October or something. Oh well THQ have promised to iron out all of the problems of the first game so who knows it could be good this time.

Is it too much to ask for single player missions, online play, more adjustability, better options, better touchscreen control...everything else that made the PC versions great?

The first one was a disaster. TERRIBLE port of the PSP version.

I just wish the new one could be more like World Party (physics, weaponry etc...) and have online multiplayer... That would rock.

Yeah, that would rock!! I agree with you on that first game. I almost cried due to the crapiness of it.

A prefer 2d traditional worms (like World Party, Worm2, etc) as opposed to the 3d versions

Online mode would also be a success

A port of Worms DC (Amiga AGA-version) with online multiplayer support would be sweet.

I always preferred the look of the first Worms, that with new weapons and online and some missions would be perfect.

Some new details have been released and it sounds like it'll be a lot better than the first effort, stole this from IGN:

Predictably titled Worms: Open Warfare 2, the game's Wi-fi multiplayer mode allows players to compete across the globe and battle stats are then updated to leaderboards on the Open Warfare 2 website, so you can easily see how you compare to other Wormers. As yet the number of simultaneous online players competing in a single game has yet to be announced.

As well as the multiplayer mode the sequel also has plenty of new customisation options, including a level editor, team flags, tombstones and even victory dances for the worms. Here's hoping the Funky Gibbon is included in the dances.

Meanwhile, for the single-player Team 17 is lining up a host of new modes like Rope Race, Fort, Puzzle and Campaign. A firing range lets players try out the destructive nature of new weapons such as the Bunker Buster or Buffalo of Lies and classics like the Super Sheep, Concrete Donkey and the Holy Hand Grenade. Hallelujah!

Sorry posting in a old thread, just thought it would be better than a new thread.

Sounds great! I picked up an old copy of WWP for PS1 a few months ago and found it just as fun as way back when it was released. 2D-Worms-4-ever.

I'd rather have worms in my intestine than the last DS worms on my R4. How did they manage to make it so bad?

This shit needs a damn fast forward button. I can't stand waiting for the other team to finish up cos they're usually fucking boneheads taking a whole damn minute before even moving. I deleted that stupid shit and I will never touch a worms Ds ever again.
